This is a vibrantly colored die-cut and embossed antique valentine card showing a clown’s head crashing through the heart shape that makes up the card’s silhouette. The clown wears a miniature straw boater hat and has orange tufts of hair on the sides of his head. The card reads, in gilded lettering, “Quit Clowning and Be My Valentine.” The heart is bordered by decorative blue and red roundels.

This highly collectible valentine is printed on heavy card stock and is in near-perfect condition, with no creases or tears. The back reads, “Mary Jean Miller, From Jean,” in pencil and ink. The card was printed in the United States.
