This is a vibrantly colored die-cut and embossed antique valentine card showing a young boy serenading his sweetheart at a window with a heart-shaped lute. A rosebush languidly climbs the stone wall over her wood-shuttered window, and she holds a rose in her similarly-rosy hand as she listens to his song. The two star-crossed lovers are surrounded on the heart-shaped card by a silvery border in a foliage motif, and the words, “To my Valentine” are displayed at the bottom of the scene.

This highly collectible valentine is printed on glossy paper and is in very good condition, with only slight dog-earing on the top of the heart. The inside reads, “To My Valentine—I come to sing my song of love, / As twilight rays are fading; / And as you linger there above, / I do my serenading.” The card was printed in the United States.
