This is a vibrantly colored die-cut antique mechanical valentine card showing a young Dutch couple embracing in clogs and frock. They stand on a wreathed box with a heart that reads, “A Token of Love.” The couple is hinged at the hip, allowing them to dip to the right or the left as they kiss. The bottom of the card has a fold-out tab that allows it to stand.

This highly collectible valentine is printed on heavy card stock and is in near-perfect condition, with no visible creasing. The front indicates that the card was printed in Germany. The back reads, “To Mary Jean, From Jean S.” in pencil.
