This is a vibrantly colored antique mechanical valentine card showing a young boy falling onto the lap of his blonde-tressed sweetheart. The boy is hinged at the arm, and side tab allows his arm and eyes to move back and forth as he falls. The couple is backed by a heart as they sit on a white bench. The heart reads, “My Valentine / Guess I Gotcha Kid.” There is an unfolded tab on the bottom to allow the card to stand.

This highly collectible valentine is printed on heavy card stock and is in near-perfect condition, except for a very slight crease across the boy’s arm. The front indicates it was printed in the United States, and the back contains the words, “To Mary Jean Miller, From Mary and Bradford,” in ink.
