This is a vibrantly colored antique mechanical valentine card showing a young boy presenting his friend with a scarlet heart. The boy is hinged at the waist, and as he moves back and forth, a girl appears in the window of a miniature adobe house. Artistically rendered wildflowers surround their feet.

This highly collectible valentine is printed on heavy card stock and is in near-perfect condition, except for a very slight crease across the top of the house. The front indicates it was printed in Germany, and the back contains the words, “From Jean” in pencil.
