This beautiful pair of Szafran’s marker drawings is framed by Le Chateau’s professional in-house framing studio. The frame was expertly matched and individually crafted by our in-house reputable master framer. The frame is fan dry silver with a black and red wash to bring out the tones in the drawings. The piece has a deep maroon mat with two separate cuts to further frame each figure. The inner edge of the mat is painted black to enhance and complement the expressive and delicate line work. The ingenious artwork and frame measure 28” x 34.” This masterful artwork is $1,860 and would make an impressive addition to any collection.
The renowned and Grammy awarded artist, Gene Szafran, born in Hamtramck Michigan, was a tremendously talented illustrator with extremely prestigious achievements in art. Master of all mediums, Gene Szafran attended the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan where he refined his highly unique talent, which was later featured in esteemed print publications. While living in Detroit, Szafran worked freelance and as a staff artist for several Detroit studios, preparing automobile advertisements for the “Motor City” industry.
Mr. Szafran’s talent eventually led him to New York City, where he taught at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and created art illustrations for many of the country’s most distinguished magazines, books and book covers, including Playboy, Cosmopolitan, Penthouse, McCall's, Fortune, Avon, Balantine and Bantam Books. Furthering his esteem, his artistic genius was rewarded with a Grammy Award for the music group Rhinoceros’ self-titled, first recorded in 1969, which establishes his stature in the art industry.
After a highly rewarding and successful career, the eminent artist now resides in Detroit, Michigan. In addition, two of his artworks acquired by the Detroit Institute of Arts, Gene Szafran also carries an excellent auction record.

Returns:
All returns are accepted within 7 business days of purchase. After 7 business days, the buyer is responsible for a $20 or 10% restocking fee, whichever is greater, and all other pertinent return costs.
