This handsome, unique photo-postcard dating from the early 1900's depicts a speedboat named "Pronto" on the water with a steamboat and the San Diego coast line in the background in an incredible photograph taken by renowned early 20th C photographer J.O. McDonnell. The excellently composed and beautifully developed image is distinct to McDonnell, meaning these were produced by McDonnell himself and there are no known reproductions.

The backside of the postcard contains McDonnell's caption " ...Of them at least. Think I am a decent sort of chap. I must close now tell Lester this is the speedboat I worked on, the one that makes 45 miles per hour. Please answer soon, your son - JO McDonnell Box 558 San Diego.

This gorgeous postcard measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".

Renowned early 20th century aviation photographer J.O. McDonnell cut his teeth taking and developing photographic postcards of the far and sundry locations he visited at the turn of the century. This absolutely unique photograph was taken and developed by McDonnell on postcard paper in the period. This one-of-a-kind original photo postcard is nearly a century old! A striking, well-preserved image. McDonnell would go on to be corporal and official photographer for the Army Aero Squadron in 1918, during US involvement in WWI.

Returns:	All returns are accepted within 7 business days of purchase. After 7 business days, the buyer is responsible for a $20 or 10% restocking fee, whichever is greater, and all other pertinent return costs.
